We are a local residents group with the aim and vision to protect and preserve Copthall South Fields London NW7.
The group – born out of a local campaign objecting to a planning application, one that still proposes to purchase, fence off and ‘concrete’ this area of publicly owned ‘free to roam’ wild and natural Green Belt land.
We care for, and maintain the land through formal agreement and support from Barnet Councils Green Spaces Scheme, an ‘Adopt a Place’ agreement together with its commitments and responsibilities, are now in place.
We hope through our efforts to give the land and residents more of a ‘voice’ in the eyes of the Council, and have its amenity value recognised as a wild place of nature, to be preserved, particularly where planning applications threaten the land.
Together – our group, with the help of various local council Green Space schemes, other Green Space groups, Residents groups, Associations and Societies, and seeking further Statutory and non Statutory designations for the land, will help us acheive our aim and vision.
Our group is democratically run and constituted.
To protect, preserve and care for the land – for now, and hopefully future generations to enjoy.
A long 8 year planning battle (Dec. 2016) is currently still being fought against a relentless applicant, the campaign website can be found here:
